Fatal Crash With Police Cruiser

(Kentucky)   Lexington police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred when a police cruiser slammed into a car at an intersection. Investigators say the officer was heading north in his cruiser when a Toyota Corolla going west entered the intersection. The officer, Anthony Guidulgli, tried to swerve to avoid the vehicle and hit the driver-side door. The driver, who was from Versailles, was pronounced dead on arrival at University of Kentucky Hospital. Police have not released his name. Guidugli was treated for a minor ankle injury, The Lexington Herald-Leader reported. Lexington Police Lt. Doug Pape says investigators have not determined if the Corolla ran the stop sign or came to a complete stop, but he says the car did not yield the right of way to the cruiser.
