Harlan Man Gets 10 Years In Prison

• {Kentucky}...Thursday, Harlan Circuit Judge Russell Alred sentenced 57 year old Billy Joe Middleton of Jones Creek to 10 years in prison for the November 2009 fatal shooting of 41 year old Polly Jones of Evarts. Middleton pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second-degree manslaughter two weeks ago after initially being charged with murder. Prosecutors say they agreed to a reduced charge because of the difficulty in showing Middleton's intent in the case and a lack of forensic evidence.
