Williams Blames Media For Poll Standings

  • {Kentucky}...A Bluegrass Poll released this weekend, just five weeks before the November 8th election, shows Democratic Governor Steve Beshear leads Williams by 31 points, garnering 57 percent of the vote compared to Williams' 27 percent. Republican David Williams said Monday that a decade of bad press has hurt his campaign for state governor. Williams, who has been president of the state Senate since 2000 and was first elected to the legislature in 1985, says he has been unfairly portrayed as a bully by the media and has often shouldered the blame and political heat for unpopular stances taken by the Senate Republican caucus.
