(Murray) A retired Murray State University professor who made a slavery reference while commenting on the tardiness of two black students has been rehired to teach online courses. Murray State spokeswoman Catherine Sivills said Friday that Mark Wattier has been hired back by the school under a contract as a part-time faculty member. Wattier retired earlier this year after the university suspended him for the racial remarks.
