Attack Ads Toward Williams

  • (Kentucky)  A newly created political group has begun running a TV ad blasting Republican gubernatorial candidate David Williams. The spot, paid for by the Kentucky Family Values PAC, criticizes Williams for spending $17,000 to upgrade his Capitol Annex office, including the purchase of a 60-inch television. Williams accused the organization of running "false and extremely negative attacks." Williams is challenging Democratic Governor Steve Beshear in the November 8th general election. A third candidate, Lexington attorney Gatewood Galbraith, is running as an independent candidate in hopes that the race between Beshear and Williams becomes so heated that voters turn to him.
