McConnell Seeks Answers On Louisville Veterans Hospital
{Kentucky}...Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell sent a letter dated October 1st to Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki, questioning why a decision hasn't been made on a location for a new hospital being planned in Louisville by the Department of Veterans Affairs. McConnell said in the letter that he hasn't taken a position on where the hospital should be located, but thinks a decision should be forthcoming soon. McConnell wrote that each month of delay means the longer that Kentucky veterans have to wait to get the quality care they need and have earned. McConnell wrote. "I, therefore, strongly urge you to make selecting a site in a timely manner one of your top priorities." Louisville VA hospital spokeswoman Judy Williams says a handful of sites discussed during a public forum in May are still being considered.
