UK Included In Lawsuit

{Kentucky}...A Kentucky health company is accused in a federal lawsuit of giving University of Kentucky basketball tickets and other items to doctors or their staffs to induce referrals, then submitting Medicare claims for the services. The federal government makes the accusations in an amended complaint in a case filed by whistleblowers Alisia Robinson-Hill and David A. Price in 2008. In July, the federal government joined the lawsuit, and the amended complaint was filed Friday. The filing adds allegations that Nurses' Registry and Home Health Corp. and its owners, Lennie G. House, and corporate secretary and board director, House's wife, Vicki S. House, provided cash and concert and basketball tickets to doctors or their staffs. Federal law prohibited Nurses' Registry from submitting Medicare claims that resulted from the inducements, the government said Tuesday.
