Housing Project Planned For UK Students

  • {Kentucky}...A major student housing project is being planned in Lexington on a 10-acre site currently owned by The Red Mile's Standardbred racetrack. Hallmark Campus Communities of Columbus, Ohio, is proposing four four-story buildings with 832 beds that would serve University of Kentucky students. The complex would have a swimming pool, a pool house with an exercise center, and outdoor courts for volleyball and basketball. Hallmark filed a request this week with Lexington planners to change the zoning at the Tattersalls site from warehouse to residential. The zone change application will be reviewed on November 3rd, and a public hearing is set for November 17th.
