{Kentucky}...Saturday afternoon, Governor Steve Beshear and his Republican gubernatorial opponent David Williams are scheduled to deliver outdoor speeches beneath a pavilion at St. Jerome Parish during the traditional kickoff of the general election campaign season in the tiny community of Fancy Farm. Beshear and Williams are following in the footsteps of generations of Kentucky politicians who have traveled to Fancy Farm to deliver stump speeches on the first Saturday in August.
