Educator Appointed To National Advisory Committee
- Council on Postsecondary Education President Bob King has been appointed to a national advisory committee on college readiness. The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) appointed the advisory committee to guide its work. PARCC is a consortium of 24 states working together to develop a common set of K-12 assessments in English Language Arts/Literacy and mathematics anchored in what it takes to be college and career ready. The advisory committee will help shape the consortium’s vision for higher education’s role and advise on strategy for engaging with higher education systems, institutions, and K-12 to ensure the successful development of college readiness assessments. The committee will also guide work the consortium undertakes to identify and develop effective intervention programs to increase the number of graduating high school seniors who meet college readiness standards prior to enrollment.
