Council Seeks To Abolish Constables’ Office


{Frankfort, Kentucky}...The Kentucky Law Enforcement Council is calling for abolishing the office of constable or striiping its law enforcement powers, saying it has outlived its usefulness. The Council made the recommendations after determining that the more than 500 constables around the state performed one-fourth of all law enforcement work and had little or no training.
