{Kentucky}...At a political forum in Louisville Wednesday, Republican David Williams, who is running against Beshear in the November 8th election, has challenged Governor Steve Beshear to come up with a fresh constitutional amendment to place on the ballot so voters can decide the issue of expanded gambling. Beshear, who has been a major proponent for expanding gambling opportunities, made casino-style gambling the centerpiece of his last campaign. Williams called for Beshear to gauge support for gambling in the legislature. If enough lawmakers support it, Williams said the matter should be voted on by the House and Senate.
