health officials announced Wednesday that, beginning February 1st, 155 of Kentucky 's 273 primary
care providers will lose $60 million in supplemental Medicaid payments because
they no longer have the correct federal designation. The Center for Medicare
and Medicaid Services notified the Cabinet for Health and Family Services of
the change in December. The process for medical providers to apply for the correct
federal designation takes between 90 and 120 days. UK Healthcare owns one of
the centers that will lose its supplemental Medicaid payments.
